How I Work

I offer a warm, attentive and collaborative relationship. I listen carefully, ask questions and help you notice connections between your experiences, emotions and relationships.

We might explore how earlier experiences influence the present, what happens when you feel threatened or hurt, or how ways of coping that once helped you now feel restrictive. We can also focus on current difficulties, such as managing anxiety, expressing needs or setting boundaries.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic perspectives and adapt our work to you. There is room for reflection, practical support and attention to how emotions are experienced in your body.

You can speak about how you are finding therapy, including anything that feels uncomfortable or unhelpful. We will regularly consider what you need from our work and whether it is helping.

As an integratively trained therapist, I draw on different approaches — Gestalt, psychodynamic, and CBT — to tailor therapy to your unique needs. This means I can help you explore past experiences that may be shaping your present, develop practical tools for managing challenges, and stay connected to what you’re feeling in the here and now. By blending these perspectives, I aim to offer a flexible and compassionate space that supports you as a whole person.

I understand that life can be overwhelming, and challenges can sometimes feel too heavy to navigate alone. My counselling services provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained professional.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, or simply seeking clarity and growth, our counsellors are here to help. I will work collaboratively with you, empowering you to better understand yourself, develop resilience, and take meaningful steps toward healing and personal transformation.

Understanding yourself with greater compassion

When you have spent years criticising yourself or trying to push difficult feelings away, responding differently can take time.

Alongside my psychotherapy training, I bring over ten years’ experience in mindfulness, psychoeducation and compassion-based work. This informs how I support people experiencing shame, self-criticism and emotional overwhelm.

Together, we can explore your difficulties with curiosity and care, while making room for responsibility, choice and change. Meditation is optional; we can discuss whether any particular practice would be helpful to you.
